Larisa’s Bridal Shower

BizCard_thumb_80x80Last Sunday, we celebrated the Bridal Shower of my good friend Larisa.  I was deeply honoured that her sister (and Maid of Honour), asked me to create a unique invitation package for her special day.

Having known the bride for many years, I know her personal style is a bit more trendy and avant-garde and that a traditional, “girly” invitation would just not reflect her stylish ways.  The invitation needed to reflect Larisa, be casual, yet pay homage to the formal venue – Toronto’s Old Mill – a beautiful, elegant and traditional setting.

This 3-layered invitation mixed a shimmery pewter cardstock with a modern ikat print on textured Japanese paper, topped with a shimmery vellum that wrapped right around the ikat, customized to the Shower’s colour theme.

Tri-folded table numbers on the same stock, with an ikat detail coordinated nicely with the colour theme, as well as 2″ square thank you tags for the party favours (not shown).

Larisa was so happy with the invitation design – “It’s SO ME!” – and wanted to keep the ikat theme going, so she enlisted my help with some coordinating Thank You Cards to send to guests post-shower.

Thanks Larisa & Tamara for letting me be a part of this special day, for both of you!  It was truly an honour.
